OUR
PRIVACY
POLICY…..
Congress passed the Gramm-Leach-Biley (GLB) Act, which deals in part with
how financial institutions treat non-public personal information.
At New
York Mutual Underwriters, we are very concerned about the privacy of our
policyholders, customers, and applicants for policies. Our relationships
are based upon trust, and we work hard to maintain the private nature of
these relationships. We do, in the ordinary course of business, gather
certain non-public personal financial and/or health information. We use
this as necessary for providing insurance coverage, servicing accounts,
billing, and handling claims; and we may share such information with
affiliated or non-affiliated companies. However, we do not disclose
non-public personal financial and/or health information about
policyholders, customers, former customers, or consumers to anyone except
as permitted by law.
We
do not sell customer information. We do not provide
customer information to anyone for their own marketing purposes. We
require anyone to whom we disclose non-public personal financial and/or
health information to guard its confidentiality and to use it only for its
intended purpose.
We may
gather non-public personal financial and/or health information from any of
the following sources:
 |
from
you or your authorized representative, on applications or other forms,
or from personal or telephone interviews, or by electronic means
|
 |
from
your transactions with us, our affiliated companies, or others,
including payment histories and underwriting and claim documents.
|
 |
from
consumer reporting agencies or government agencies |
We require anyone who gathers
such information on our behalf to guard its confidentiality and to use it
only for its intended purpose.
New York Mutual Underwriters
restricts access to non-public personal financial and/or health
information about you to those employees who need to know that
information in order to properly provide products or services to you. We
maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that
comply with applicable regulatory standards to guard your non-public
personal financial and/or health information.
